The Band
Check out the folks in LoverCraft who are here to get you on your feet and groove!
Queen Justine
As a professional actor, singer, and voice-over artist in the Twin Cities, Justine Carroll brings her years of experience on stage and in front of the mic to the mix. Playing at the Ordway, History Theater, Park Square, Plymouth Playhouse, Bryant Lake Bowl, Artistry, and the old Hey City Theater. Her most memorable roles were touring around the US and in several 60’s jukebox musicals which led her to this R&B/Soul style band. She had the pleasure of singing with Shelby’s Voyage and is thrilled to be making a big noise with her LoverCraft bandmates. She also plays the Stevie Nicks role in the Fleetwood Mac tribute band Big Love Little Lies. In her spare time, she sells hipster vehicles as Justine the Subaru Queen and spends time with her hubs and her sweet son.✌
Ditty
A multi-instrumentalist, Matt Dittmar has been playing music since before he was a teenager and is comfortable with just about any instrument in his hands. As a founding member of LoverCraft, he anchors the horn section on tenor sax. While his heart is in funk and soul, he earned his chops in a variety of bands (and music styles) prior to launching LoverCraft – from alternative rock with Drambuie, to hip hop with Inebriation, and sitting in regularly with the reggae band, Jon Wayne and The Payne. Currently he plays with Ghost Wagon and Twist My Arm. When he’s not playing smooth licks on the sax, he’s taking sharp turns as an avid bike rider. And, little-known and arbitrary fact, he’s a sucker for Lifetime movies.
Detroit Dave
David Preis blows his horn and adds the occasional vocals. He grew up outside Detroit where he got raised on R&B radio. He got a degree in music at UW Madtown. After getting distracted by life, he then got back into music through the Rock Camp Experience. He also plays with Brass Solidarity, and he sings with Just Ghostly, The Snotty Rottens, The Zoo TV Project, and the Lindsay Buckingham role in the Fleetwood Mac tribute band Big Love Little Lies. David’s side hustle is at GrantStation, an online resource for nonprofit organizations looking for grant opportunities.
Cody Stix
Our rhythm section is anchored by Cody Roush, who enjoys the challenges that come with playing in a large, multi-faceted band. His beat is rock solid on all of the tunes, but his favorites to groove on are Money’s Too Tight, Miss You, and Wouldn’t Want To Be Like You. Little-known band lore – the purple color in the band’s logo as well as the stage-wear accents are said to be inspired by Cody’s affinity for the sweet, grape-flavored goodness of Jolly Joes.
Ryan B
Ryan Becker studied jazz bass when he was a kitten. He was a founding member of local bands Atomic Beat and Halfway There, and he’s active in his church’s music ministry. He’ll jam on just about any song, but he only knows 12 notes. When Ryan needs to buy more gear, he dabbles in data architecture.
Jonny P
Jon Peterson is too busy practicing to share his background, but check back soon.
Keyboard Keith
Keith Vargo is the newest addition to LoverCraft! He serves up all the keys, from a B3 Hammond to a Funky Clavinet to Solina Strings. Keith is another frequent camper at the Rock Camp Experience and he plays along with his spouse David in Just Ghostly and The Zoo TV Project. Check out his visual art at Altair Flair.
